Job Description
Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' growth and well-being as a Music Therapist on a 12-week contract. Desired Qualifications:
- Credentials as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
- Previous experience delivering music therapy in educational or pediatric settings
- Understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting therapeutic approaches to diverse needs and abilities
- Strong organizational abilities to document sessions and progress notes
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct music therapy services to students in individual and group settings, addressing a variety of developmental, social-emotional, and behavioral goals
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and special education teams to support student success
- Develop and implement evidence-based music therapy interventions tailored to each student's IEP
- Collect data and maintain accurate documentation of student progress and session outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate recommendations for continued therapeutic support
