Job Description

Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity to provide impactful music therapy services within a school setting! Use your passion and expertise to support students' development and well-being by creating engaging therapeutic experiences that nurture creativity and progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
National certification in Music Therapy is required. Strong knowledge of assessment protocols for music therapy and ability to align services with student IEPs. Familiarity with strategies and interventions for students with autism and developmental disabilities. Experience crafting adaptive equipment and materials to promote achievement. Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to complete district fingerprinting requirements if not already registered. Previous school-based or pediatric therapy experience is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
Deliver both individual and group music therapy within a welcoming elementary campus environment for the 2026-2027 academic year. Develop service schedules that fully support student IEP goals while meeting campus expectations. Assess students to determine eligibility for therapy and participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) Committee meetings to contribute to data interpretation and goal setting. Collaborate and consult with teachers, staff, and parents to elevate student support and raise awareness of music therapy benefits. Provide staff development and training for school personnel. Design, alter, and implement adaptive devices and materials. Cultivate an engaging, inclusive, and safe classroom environment tailored to diverse learning needs. Maintain accurate records and comply with all district, state, and federal regulations. Engage in ongoing professional development and embrace new techniques and approaches.
