Job Description

Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a school-based Music Therapist, providing vital support to students within a dynamic educational setting. This full-time role runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, at Bright Futures Academy, where you'll deliver impactful individual and group music therapy services to help students achieve their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
National certification in music therapy required Experience working in schools or with children/adolescents with disabilities, including autism and other developmental needs Strong understanding of assessment protocols and documentation for IEP compliance Ability to design adaptive equipment and provide interventions tailored to diverse learners Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Must complete fingerprinting as required by district standards
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver music therapy services in accordance with student IEPs and campus expectations Assess student needs, support eligibility determinations, and monitor progress Participate in ARD Committees to interpret data and help set meaningful goals Develop and maintain schedules, documentation, and reports aligned with federal, state, and local policies Provide staff development and consult with educators, administrators, and parents to enhance student support Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages learning and growth Select and adapt music equipment and materials to meet student objectives Attend mandatory professional development and follow school and district routines and regulations Experience a rewarding contract assignment where your expertise and creativity in music therapy can help shape student success.
