Main Campus McWane Building Night Shift Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Req # 1713 Location 1600 7th Ave S, Birmingham, Alabama Category Allied Health Schedule Full Time Work Schedule 12-Hour Shifts Schedule Description 3 12-hours shifts per week, weekend rotations, call as needed In Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Main Campus McWane Building Work schedule will be Full-time on the Night Shift, 3 12-hours shifts per week, weekend rotations, call as needed.
Summary:
Lead EMU Specialist is a mid-level to advanced position in the Neurophysiology Department. The Lead EMU Specialist performs EEGs, LTVM EEGs, and Ambulatory EEGs in the Neurophysiology Department per department policies and procedures. The Lead EMU Specialist must be able to use the 10/20 and 10/10 systems for EEG electrode placement, use collodion to apply EEG electrodes, troubleshoot equipment, have a working knowledge of Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology, be able to identify EEG normal variants and abnormalities, provide quality EEG recordings based on patient medical history and EEG findings, demonstrate a flexible and positive attitude, and collaborate well with team members and management. The Lead EMU Specialist will also be a clinical instructor for students and perform research procedures. The Lead EMU Specialist will be responsible for coordinating work-flow under the guidance of the Neurophysiological Leadership Team, staff development, scheduling staff, managing day to day operations under the guidance of the supervisor.
