No Department Details Join a busy team of professionals testing inpatients and outpatients in ages varying from neonate to geriatric. This position is looking for someone that possesses the characteristics of being a self starter, flexibility and ability to work with a wide variety of people. After orientation the position will include shifts of daytime, evening and overnight. On Call is part of the position, shared between all employees. Summary Responsible for performing procedures or testing for all patient populations. Job Description Understands the testing equipment in detail, including its structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures. Understands and is able to apply principles of anatomy and physiology, normal and abnormal, related to procedures performed. Possesses working knowledge of the disease and pathological conditions encountered. May perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction and/or electroencephalography (EEG) testing for patients. Qualifications High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred. Completion of department approved training program is required. Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is preferred. Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
