Job Description:
A specialized role in Nuclear Medicine Technology , specifically a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist who performs "Thallium Stress Tests." This is a diagnostic procedure using a radioactive isotope to evaluate blood flow to the heart muscle.
Patient Imaging & Testing:
Prepare and administer thallium-201 radiopharmaceuticals to patients in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) standards.
Cardiac Imaging:
Acquire high-quality gated and non-gated images of the heart using SPECT camera systems, including resting, stress, and 4-hour delayed imaging to evaluate heart viability.
Patient Care:
Assist physicians during procedures, manage patient scheduling, and document patient clinical information/allergies.
Radiation Safety:
Conduct daily/weekly quality assurance (QA), radiation safety surveys, and equipment calibration. Handle and dispose of radioactive materials according to safety protocols. University Hospitals +2
Job Requirements & Qualifications Certifications:
Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Licensure:
State-specific licensure for radioactive material administration.
Experience:
Previous experience in cardiology imaging or nuclear medicine studies is usually required.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with imaging systems, computer systems for data acquisition, and patient record management. BeBee +2
