Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our cardiology practice. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cardiac-focused diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials, with an emphasis on myocardial perfusion imaging and stress testing. You will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations and exceptional patient care. A strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities
  • Perform cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, including myocardial perfusion stress and rest imaging, and pharmacologic and exercise stress testing.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with established cardiac imaging protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain SPECT or PET/CT cardiac imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists to discuss imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
  • Monitor patients during stress tests in collaboration with cardiologists and nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures performed and patient responses in EMR systems.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and compliance.
  • Educate patients about the procedures they will undergo, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Stay updated on advancements in cardiac nuclear medicine technology and best practices.
  • Maintain equipment quality control and calibration logs.
Qualifications Required:
  • Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an accredited program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac nuclear medicine principles, imaging techniques, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Knowledge of cardiac imaging protocols and stress testing procedures.
  • Experience with pharmacologic stress agents (e.g., Lexiscan/regadenoson).
  • Proficiency in IV insertion.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology related to cardiac diagnostic imaging.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • 1+ year experience in cardiac nuclear imaging.
Preferred:
  • Current certification through ARRT (N) or NMTCB.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Previous experience in an outpatient cardiology or cardiovascular imaging setting. Compensation & Benefits

  • 1-2 days per week (Part-Time / PRN position).
  • No weekend or major holiday shifts required.
