Job Summary:
Montgomery Cardiology is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) to join our growing team in Rockville, MD. You will work collaboratively within a cohesive team and be responsible for performing high-quality cardiac nuclear medicine procedures on patients in a private practice setting. You will effectively interact with patients and other staff while maintaining standards of professional services, medical care, and attention to detail. This is a Part-Time weekday position . No call. No weekends
Responsibilities:
Perform Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Procedures:
Conduct myocardial perfusion imaging studies following established protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic results
Start and Maintain IV Access:
Start and manage intravenous (IV) lines as required for nuclear medicine procedures
Administer Radiopharmaceuticals:
Calculate and administer doses of radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accurate dosage and patient safety; dispose of, store, and safely handle radioactive materials
Maintain Nuclear Medicine Lab:
Oversee the daily operations of the nuclear medicine lab, radiopharmaceutical ordering, quality control, data entry into NMIS, and adherence to safety standards
Quality Assurance:
Participate in quality assurance programs by performing routine quality control tests on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to maintain accreditation standards
Maintain Accreditation:
Ensure compliance with all requirements set forth by accrediting organization (ACR) by managing documentation, quality control, and lab protocols to maintain accreditation status
Patient Interaction:
Provide clear instructions to patients, address their questions regarding procedures, and obtain informed consent.
Data Management:
Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and maintain comprehensive records of studies performed.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and accurate diagnostic outcomes.
Qualifications:
Certification:
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent
Licensure:
Valid and unrestricted Maryland state nuclear medicine technologist license
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience performing cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, including starting and managing IV lines
Education:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field
Skills:
Proficiency in operating nuclear medicine equipment, strong understanding of radiation safety protocols, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems, eClinicalWorks preferred
Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
