Performs a variety of technical procedures that require minimum independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of radio-isotopes for the diagnosis and therapy of disease in humans. Ensures the flow of work in the Nuclear Medicine Department on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Possess the credential of Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine, ARRT(N), awarded by the American Registry for Radiologic Technology, OR Possess the credential of Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CNMT, awarded by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).Working Conditions:
High Stress Works indoors in a well lighted and ventilated area. Some direct exposure to contagion, but risk is minimal when proper safety precautions are observed. Willingness to work with the realization that errors and incompetency may have serious consequences to patients.Physical Demands:
Constant standing, lifting, moving on occasion objects weighing up to 300 lbs. with assistance from othrs. Requires constant verbal communication in person or using the phone. Requires frequent reading of correspondence, reports, material, etc.Mental Demands:
Ability to perform duties under stressful situations. Requires ability to read, understand, analyze and interpret policies and procedures. Manage time appropriately to meet patient and department needs. Requires flexibility in order to respond to changes in priorities, special project assignments, and emergency situations.Equipment Operated:
