JOB OVERVIEW

Buffalo Medical Group is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who will play a vital role in delivering advanced diagnostic imaging services that help clinicians accurately diagnose and treat our patients. FUNCTION

Operate all equipment and perform diagnostic studies as directed by physicians. Administer radioactive iodine therapy as directed by the Nuclear Medicine Physician.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Camera quality control. Quality control dose calibration. Quality control of well counter. Maintain accurate records with regards to receipt and disbursement of all radiopharmaceuticals. Calculate and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, instruct patients regarding procedures. Perform all diagnostic studies. Examine images for quality of study. Order radiopharmaceuticals as needed for diagnostic studies and therapies. Participate in training of students. Complies with BMG Corporate Compliance Policy and HIPAA regulations. Will participate in worksite safety training programs. Will comply with all Group policies and procedures, including mandatory annual in-services Other tasks as assigned/required. EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT or NMTCB or registry eligible. Working knowledge of Part 16 of the NYS Sanitary Code concerning the safe use and handling of radioactive materials and comply with all regulations. 3 years clinical experience, preferred.

EQUIPMENT USED

Geiger counter, well counter, Gamma Camera, computer, phone.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires manual and finger dexterity, hand/eye coordination for operation of equipment and injecting patients. Lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposure to communicable diseases, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

WORK LOCATION

325 Essjay Road in Williamsville, NY and 3900 North Buffalo Road in Orchard Park, NY

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday working five (8) hour shifts with a start time as early as 6:30am and an end time as late as 6pm.

Pay:

$32.73 - $47.17 per hour
