Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist with specialized cardiac PET experience to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality nuclear medicine and cardiac PET procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff. Key Responsibilities Perform cardiac PET imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately. Operate and maintain PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging equipment. Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergencies. Ensure optimal image quality and accurate data acquisition for physician interpretation. Follow radiation safety procedures and maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Review patient histories, verify orders, and explain procedures to patients. Collaborate with cardiologists, radiologists, and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care. Perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment and maintain proper documentation. Maintain accurate patient records within the
EMR/PACS
systems. Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and inventory management as needed. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field. Current certification through ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB required. Current state licensure as required. BLS/CPR certification required. Minimum of 1-2 years of nuclear medicine experience preferred. Prior cardiac PET experience strongly preferred. Experience with PET/CT systems and cardiac stress testing procedures preferred. Knowledge of radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of cardiac imaging protocols and PET procedures. Excellent patient care and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with EMR, PACS, and imaging software systems. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and position patients as needed. Manual dexterity for handling imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.
Pay:
$50.00 - $65.00 per hour
