In this role, you will prepare and administer radioactive drugs for imaging or therapeutic purposes while ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) and administer them to patients via injection, inhalation, or oral methods. Operate advanced imaging equipment to capture images of radioactive material within the body for diagnostic purposes. Monitor patients during procedures for any adverse reactions or complications. Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure. Collaborate with physicians to analyze imaging results for accurate diagnoses or treatment plans. Maintain detailed records of procedures performed and ensure proper disposal of radioactive materials according to regulations.
Work Environment:
Work in hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers, or research facilities equipped with nuclear medicine technology. A dynamic environment requiring attention to detail, technical expertise, and adherence to safety standards.
