Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) FPA Women's Health - 3.2 Long Beach, CA Job Details Part-time From $200 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications RN License ACLS Certification Anesthesiology CRNA Full Job Description FPA Women's Health has been a nationally recognized and AAAHC accredited women's healthcare organization for over 40 years, with 25 locations throughout the state of California. We currently have a part-time opportunity for a CRNA to work one day per week (Tuesdays) at our Long Beach location with a minimum of 8 hours guaranteed . The CRNA provides anesthetic care for all patients and procedures in cooperation with the supervising or medically directing physician in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. The CRNA administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery/procedures and provides continuous vigilant observation of patients by monitoring their physical reaction and any potential adverse condition that threatens the safety or care of the patient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses the patient's medical history and how it might affect the patient's response to anesthesia. Meets with the patient to obtain pertinent information, explain the process, and answer any questions. Assesses the patient's pain management needs prior to surgery to decide which medication and techniques best fit the patient's needs. Performs focused physical exams (i.e. heart, lungs, etc.) Administers anesthesia to either relieve pain or render patients unconscious for surgical procedures. Provides continuous observation during surgery to closely monitor the patient for symptoms of distress until they have recovered from the anesthesia and are stable. Initiates emergency measures as needed if the patient reacts badly to anesthesia. Keeps detailed records of the medications given and the patient's response. Assists in the resuscitation of critically ill or severely traumatized patients. Remains knowledgeable about new anesthesia and techniques as they become available. Partners with management to achieve and maintain adequate clinic efficiencies. Coordinates and executes code blue drills. Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers. Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication. Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited School of Anesthesia. Licensed by the State of California as a Registered Nurse. Certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists as a Nurse Anesthetist. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Two years of providing anesthesia services in an ambulatory surgical setting. Possess all applicable certifications, as required by the State of California. Must pass any applicable agency qualifying exam(s). Ability to travel to multiple clinic sites as needed. A reliable means of transportation is required. Must have excellent customer service skills and be committed to providing the highest level of customer service. Demonstrate mature judgment, initiative and critical thinking. Possess a professional appearance and attitude. Ability to relate to diverse communities. Possess a warm and caring manner.
