Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Anesthetist for a 12-day assignment in NC, starting Jul 27, 2026. This inpatient role involves 7a-3p shifts with a 1:5 every fifth weekend call schedule, primarily focusing on epidural placement and a diverse range of surgical cases, including General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Gynecological Surgery, and Podiatry. Responsibilities and Duties Be proficient in Epidural Placement. Manage inpatient cases exclusively. Adhere to a call schedule of 1:5, covering every fifth weekend with a 20-minute home response time. Collaborate within an established practice, supported by 4 experienced CRNAs and 1 MDA. Perform occasional moderate procedural sedation in the ER. Demonstrate proficiency in placing labor epidurals, spinals/ITN in obese patients, and provide care for pediatric patients. Perform procedures including Epidurals, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Gynecological Surgery, and Podiatry. Contribute to daily coverage with 4 CRNAs, with one CRNA on call. Benefit from 1 MDA available daily in the OR and for call cases. Operate under Medical Direction in the OR, with CRNA-only coverage for endoscopy and Labor and Delivery. Assume responsibility for epidurals after hours when on call. Occasionally cover the OR after 1630 if cases are ongoing, when on call. Crucially, you will not respond to codes nor serve as backup in the ER for emergencies.
