Job Description

Job ID:
Not provided We're seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join a hospital team in Sumter, SC for a locum tenens assignment from Sep 21, 2026 to Dec 21, 2026. You'll work clinical-only shifts Monday-Friday, either 5x8-hour days (preferred) or 4x10-hour days, covering about 15-30 cases per day. The workload is "bread-and-butter" general anesthesia for pediatric patients (up to 18 years) and adults—no cardiac, neuro, or OB cases. The hospital has a 283-bed department and uses Epic for charting. Hospital privileges are required; credentialing typically takes 60-90 days (60 days if you already have an active South Carolina license, 90 days if you don't).
Qualifications we need:
active SC license (or willingness to obtain one), NBCRNA certification, current BLS, ACLS, and PALS, and at least two years of CRNA experience with a clean malpractice history. Candidates must be out of training and there should be no local providers within 60 miles. In this role you'll perform pre-anesthesia assessments, create anesthetic plans, provide and monitor general anesthesia intraoperatively, manage emergence and immediate post-anesthesia care, and document all patient encounters in Epic. If you're comfortable with steady general cases and enjoy working with both pediatric and adult populations in a hospital setting, this could be a great fit.
