Recommend a friend Description Opportunity At Pulse Doctors , we are delighted to be working in partnership with an leading university hospital in Norfolk to recruit a Consultant in Anaesthesia with a specialist interest in Pain Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking and supportive department in either a substantive (permanent) or fixed-term salaried consultant position . The role offers flexible job planning , dedicated SPA allocation , and participation in the consultant on-call rota, allowing consultants to balance clinical commitments with professional development, teaching, leadership, and service improvement activities. Whether you are an established Consultant or approaching your CCT, this position provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while enjoying an excellent quality of life in one of England's most attractive regions. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality anaesthetic care across agreed clinical services. Deliver specialist Pain Medicine services, including the assessment and management of patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. Participate in multidisciplinary pain management clinics and collaborative treatment pathways. Contribute to the consultant anaesthetic on-call rota. Support the ongoing development and enhancement of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine services. Supervise and support junior doctors, trainees, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with GMC standards. Engage in teaching, research, and educational activities where appropriate. Undertake Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) including appraisal, revalidation, CPD, and departmental development work. Essential Criteria to Apply Full GMC registration with a licence to practise. Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia, or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview. FRCA or an equivalent recognised qualification. Demonstrable experience in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at Consultant level or equivalent. Commitment to delivering high standards of patient-centred care. Evidence of participation in clinical governance and quality improvement activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to teaching, training, and continuous professional development. What's on Offer for You?
