Job Description
Nurse Practitioner - Qualified candidates must have a MSN or Doctorate degree in nursing, current Alabama license, and national certification. Experience in critical care is desired.
Duties may include:
Seeing and treating patients established with Pulmonary Associates in the hospital Seeing all new consults that come in during shift Writing prescriptions Notifying physician of newly diagnosed pulmonary problems Ordering patient supplies and equipment Document patient encounters with appropriate note (ie history, physical progress) Maintain appropriate documentation as required by Alabama Board of Nursing and/or certifying body Provide patient instruction: Metered Dose Inhaler, Peakflow Meter, Diskus, Diet, Medical D During each shift, the Nurse Practitioner's primary responsibility is to the On-Call physician. Schedule outpatient procedures Order Home Respiratory Equipment or Durable Medical Equipment.
