Job Description

Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner which provides critical patient-facing support within a fast-paced clinical research environment at the NASA Armstrong Occupational Health Unit. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, clinical staff, and support services, ensuring efficient scheduling and coordination of care while delivering exceptional customer service. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive healthcare services tailored to the unique needs of NASA personnel, ensuring optimal health, safety, and well-being. Your expertise will support mission-critical operations by providing high-quality clinical care, health assessments, and health education within a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply advanced nursing skills in a cutting-edge aerospace setting while making a meaningful impact on the health of our nation's space explorers. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories for NASA employees and contractors. Provide acute and chronic care management, including injury treatment, illness diagnosis, and follow-up care utilizing critical care experience when necessary. Administer injections, perform suturing, and manage IV infusions with precision and adherence to sterile techniques. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for specialized services such as dermatology procedures like dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments, as well as telehealth consultations. Manage urgent care cases including triage assessments, airway management, and emergency response protocols aligned with Level I Trauma Center standards. Support occupational health initiatives by conducting drug testing (including botulinum toxin treatments), workplace injury evaluations under workers' compensation law, and health coaching for lifestyle improvements. Assist with medical documentation for CPT coding and
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in clinical research projects related to aerospace medicine or other specialized fields such as infectious disease care or dementia care. Provide education on health promotion topics including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator management, or memory care tailored to diverse populations. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice in the designated jurisdiction. Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine; hospital experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and laboratory specimen collection/processing. Hands-on skills in suturing, phlebotomy, sterile processing, and aseptic technique are essential. Ability to handle complex patient cases involving pain management, behavioral health issues, or post-operative recovery using evidence-based practices. Excellent communication skills for patient education on topics such as nutrition, medication administration. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure patient privacy and data security. $79,996.45 - $130,000.00 per year
