They provide routine, acute, critical, and specialty care as defined by their granted privileges/standardized procedures. These may include performing non-invasive or invasive procedures and operative first assist. UCSF NPs are guided by and follow California regulations and the UCSF Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies•. They are authorized to exercise those privileges specifically granted to them by the Committee on Interdisciplinary Practice (CIDP), Executive Medical Board (EMB), and Governance Advisory Council (GAC),• and are expected to provide clinically indicated care that meets the applicable standard of care. UCSF-hired APPs whose UCSF clinical responsibilities require patient care at facilities/locations outside of UCSF Medical Center and Clinics must abide by California regulations and are expected to provide clinically indicated care that meets the applicable standards of care. Additionally, they must be credentialed and privileged and follow the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies of those facilities/locations. Examples include but are not limited to Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital (LPPH), Marin Health, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, UCSF Health Saint Francis & St. Mary's Hospitals and Clinics, Washington Hospital, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG).

Qualifications Required:

Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing-approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Two (2) years in a busy neurosurgical specialty in an ambulatory setting

Preferred:

Preferred Ambulatory OP experience and or inpatient experience in

Neurosciences License/Certification:

1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction 2. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction 3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number, including Schedule II furnishing privileges 4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role.

Adult Hybrid:

Inpatient and Outpatient:

(ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC). 5. California Driver's License (if required for position) 6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address 7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 8.

Additional required AHA certifications:

None additional to BLS 9. Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
