The ideal candidate is passionate about metabolic health related to hormone balancing and weight management, as well as helping patients achieve sustainable wellness goals through evidence-based, individualized treatment plans. The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients seeking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and medical weight management. This role involves comprehensive patient assessments, interpretation of laboratory testing, development of personalized treatment plans, and ongoing monitoring to optimize outcomes. We will provide all necessary training and knowledge transfer with regards to protocols needed for this position. Key Responsibilities Hormone Replacement Therapy Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, symptom assessment, and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage hormonal imbalances, including menopause, perimenopause, testosterone deficiency, thyroid disorders, adrenal dysfunction, and related conditions. Develop and implement individualized hormone replacement therapy plans using evidence-based protocols. Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits, laboratory review, and treatment adjustments. Educate patients on treatment options, benefits, risks, and lifestyle interventions that support hormonal health. Medical Weight Loss Assess patients for obesity, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and other weight-related conditions. Work with Nutritionist on staff to develop personalized weight management programs incorporating nutrition, exercise, behavioral modification, and pharmacologic interventions when appropriate. Prescribe and manage weight-loss medications, including GLP-1 receptor agonists and other approved therapies, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Monitor patient outcomes, side effects, adherence, and overall health improvements. Work with Nutritionist on staff to provide ongoing coaching and support to encourage sustainable lifestyle changes. Functional Medicine Care Interpret comprehensive laboratory and diagnostic testing. Identify root causes and contributing factors affecting patient health and wellness. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle modification, and conventional medical therapies when appropriate. Collaborate with health coaches, nutritionists, and other providers on staff to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain current knowledge of functional and integrative medicine practices. Clinical & Administrative Duties Document all patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain compliance with clinic policies, state regulations, and professional standards of practice. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings. Contribute to patient education materials and wellness programs. Support clinic growth through exceptional patient care and retention.
Qualifications Required:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of California. Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority for the state for California. Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology NP (AGNP), or equivalent. Basic experience prescribing and managing hormone replacement therapies and/or weight-loss medications (Advanced training and knowledge transfer for HRT and Medical weight-loss will be provided) Strong understanding of preventive medicine and chronic disease management. Preferred:
Experience in functional, integrative, anti-aging, or lifestyle medicine. Training or certification in hormone optimization, obesity medicine, or functional medicine. Experience with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). Familiarity with advanced laboratory interpretation and nutritional supplementation. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and patient education abilities. Ability to build long-term therapeutic relationships with patients. Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills. Collaborative team player with a wellness-focused mindset. Comfortable managing multiple patient cases independently.
