We are seeking a warm, patient-centered Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in Denver on a PRN or part-time basis, with current needs for Monday coverage and additional as-needed support. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians in a highly specialized eating disorder treatment environment serving patients across PHP, IOP, and Residential levels of care. Our Nurse Practitioners play an essential role in supporting the medical stability, safety, and overall wellbeing of patients while building meaningful therapeutic relationships grounded in empathy, professionalism, and respect. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, collaborative, and passionate about whole-person care. Responsibilities include conducting medical assessments and histories, monitoring vitals and labs, managing medications, addressing patient concerns, and partnering closely with psychiatry, nursing, therapists, dietitians, and leadership to provide exceptional care. Experience treating eating disorders is preferred, though providers with strong medical expertise and a desire to learn in this specialty are encouraged to apply. Non-Exempt, Hourly Summary of Major Functions:
Provide medical care to EDCare patients in conjunction with supervising physician. Complete daily medical duties associated with eating disordered patients. Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily medical duties, including specimen collection, blood pressure, observation of patients self-administering medication, orders, observing and recording weights, vitals, etc. Order labs, draw blood if Quest is not on site, interpret findings of relevant diagnostic and laboratory tests; follows up with necessary labs; shares results of labs with medical staff, escalating priority results with appropriate staff. Address patients' medical concerns and inquiries; listen and communicate by providing clinical information in a clear and timely manner; requesting information and resources needed to provide care. Complete history and physicals on new admissions. Collaborate on care delivery by including staff, other physicians and management in both service and patient care improvements; treat all members with respect; demonstrate the highest levels of ethical and professional conduct Provides knowledgeable and thorough medical coverage in conjunction with other medical staff. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of appropriate medications. Prescribe appropriately and confer with Psychiatrist as needed. Regularly monitors prescribed medications for assigned patients Adheres to Infection Control standards for EDCare. Monitors, educates and adheres to regulatory bodies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission, CDC & OSHA, regarding monitoring infections in staff and patients Provides patient education regarding side-effects and efficacy of certain medications. Timely completion and accuracy of clinical paperwork: treatment plan, progress notes, etc. Responsible for maintaining medication exam room; ordering supplies, maintaining organization, determining supply needs, etc. Adheres to, complies and demonstrates support for the mission and values of EDCare Ensure confidentiality of patient information by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment Provide and accept feedback in a respectful manner from all staff Other job duties as assigned. Computer Skills:
Minimum of beginner skills in Microsoft Office suite. Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system. Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within various software products. Physical Demands and Environment:
Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking frequently, hearing frequently, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately. This position requires lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds rarely. Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to: 99% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office environment. Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced Practice Registration (APN) in the state of Colorado within 60 days of hire required. Possess RXN prescriptive authority within 60 days of hire required. Obtain CPR Certification within 90 days of hire. Experience treating patients with eating disorders preferred. Good oral and written communication skills preferred.
