PMHNP Full Job Description Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Role:
Our team is hiring for a PMHNP available in person days: Monday-Thursday, 8 am
  • 5 pm
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients age 6+. Patient population will be tailored by your preference though practice needs include patients across the lifespan with a variety of mental health challenges.
  • Participate in Spravato (esketamine) program, providing initial assessments to determine appropriateness of treatment and support for the Spravato Coordinator
  • Collaborate with patient and family to develop a treatment plan, provide clinical recommendations for medication management and collaborate with other providers such as therapists or other medical specialists
  • Develop and implement treatment plans using evidence based treatment guidelines
  • Prescribe and manage medications for patients
  • Provide supportive therapy incorporating CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. Additional basic training in EMDR will be considered in salary consideration.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in a timely manner (within 24 hours of visit completion)
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric-Mental Health
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Experience working in a medical office or clinical setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to triage and prioritize patient needs
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
Preferences:
  • Certification in addictions or integrative health
  • Basic training in
EMDR Knowledge/Skills:
  • Should feel confident practicing independently
  • Competent in medication management for psychiatric conditions
  • Proficiency in history taking and assessment. Timely completion of notes.
  • Have excellent grammar, attention to detail, and be efficient in writing medical information at a patient level
  • Experience in supportive therapy
  • Be pleasant, responsive, and willing to collaborate with our team
  • Be patient-centered in your care
  • Respond to patient needs in a quick and timely manner
  • Knowledge and use of clinical guidelines for psychiatry
  • Strictly follow HIPAA regulations to protect our patients' medical information
  • Comfortable using an EMR, all charting is completed electronically
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures and protocols for routine outpatient care
  • Refer patients as needed to supportive services (ie, therapy) or higher level of care (IOP, PHP, inpatient, residential as necessary) Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
