Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and autonomous Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessments, diagnosis, medication management, and therapy, with a focus on providing personalized treatment plans. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes across diverse populations, including individuals with complex mental health needs. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a variety of clinical settings. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing mental health care through innovative approaches and evidence-based practices. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments utilizing clinical research methods and diagnostic tools such as ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate, ensuring safe and effective patient care. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating behavioral health strategies, medication management, and patient education to optimize recovery. Provide telehealth consultations and in-person visits for patients across outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and patients homes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes aligned with NCQA standards. Perform crisis intervention, triage assessments, acute pain management, and airway management in emergency or urgent care settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or emergency rooms. Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality. Experience Proven experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or inpatient units. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical records management. Strong background in behavioral health assessment, psychopharmacology, and managing complex cases involving geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator care), or individuals with developmental disabilities. Experience performing procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, catheterization, spinal taps, dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments is a plus. Critical care experience in ICU or trauma center settings enhances your ability to handle acute psychiatric emergencies effectively. Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes and familiarity with Workers' Compensation law ensures comprehensive understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes. Skilled in working with diverse populations including hospice & palliative medicine patients, memory care residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, and individuals requiring post-acute or sub-acute care.
