Job Description Summary:
The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients (Cardiology).
Job Description:
Provides primary care and treatment to patients under the auspices of the supervising physician Assures timely and accurate entries of medical histories, progress notes and treatment recommendations in the patients' medical records Provides service in accordance with policies and procedures Practices within scope of practice as delineated by education and training including, but not limited to: Conforms to prescriptive privileges Obtains co-signature by the supervising physician on all prescriptions written Does not prescribe narcotics Refers patients for laboratory, x-ray and specialty care for needed services that cannot be provided at the practice Assures that adequate patient health records are maintained and transferred, as required, when patient care is transferred Participates with supervising physician in a periodic review of the patients' health records. Assures all patient management documentation, including pharmaceutical modalities, is outlined in the patient's medical record and signed by the supervising physician. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Skilled in providing age-appropriate education regarding care management interventions and illness adjustment issues [Required]
Education:
  • Master's of Nursing [Required]
