Healthcare Professionals accepted) Hospitalist - Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner|Physician Assistant opportunity in Cedar Rapids, IA Great opportunity to join our well-established team of 14 physicians and 8 APPs. Work alongside a Medical Director, an Associate Medical Director, two clinical performance nurses, and a Program Manager.
Scheduling:
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for both our day and swing shifts with full and part-time schedules. Our schedule is relatively predictable, so our team typically works 7-days-on, 7-days-off. Generally, our Nurse Practitioners|Physician Assistants will work 7 am-5 pm and 4 pm-2 am, rounding during the day shift (average of 12 patients per shift) and focusing on admissions during the evening shift (average of 7-8 admissions per shift). However, volumes can ebb and flow depending on the time of year and staffing. Highly autonomous role
Key Responsibilities:
Even though our nurse practitioners|physician assistants don't provide ICU coverage, our physicians may assist from a medical management perspective from time to time. Our team is highly engaged, so we respond to codes and rapid alerts on our patients and assist if one is called and we are nearby; we try to help each other in any way we can. We meet monthly for a team meeting and a patient experience touch base. We also have a short morning huddle daily to secure handoffs and ensure everyone is ready for the day.
Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner|Physician Assistant board certification is required At least 1 year of acute care hospitalist experience preferred. Job #
