POSITION OVERVIEW
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing continuous and comprehensive services necessary for the promotion of optimal mental health, prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders and health maintenance.
SCHEDULE AND PAY
Clinic Open:
Monday
  • Thursday 8AM
  • 7PM and Friday 8AM
  • 5PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview. Annual salary range is $120,000
  • $145,000.
Pay offer is based on education, and experience. DUTIES Assesses and documents patient's psychiatric evaluation. Acquires an initial psychiatric evaluation, inclusive of diagnosing, for patients who are seeking psychiatric services Identifies barriers and poor social determinants of health that may influence treatment. Works to remove barriers and improve social determinants of health that lead to reduced impairment and works to improve optimize functioning and outcomes. Utilizes enhanced interviewing skills to obtain a detailed history of present illness during each session. Interview questions will require assessment, but not be limited to patient's safety, suicidality and homicidally, abuse and neglect across the lifespan. Provides evidence-based psychiatric services to patients who seek treatment. Utilizes available resources in diagnosis and treatment such as laboratory testing, in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner. Confers with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and patient's family concerning treatment and care of patients. Refers cases that require specialist services and maintains responsibility assuring continuity of care. Promotes the importance of preventative health care measures, community health and outreach programs as requested by All Care Health Center. Acquires and review patient records regarding diagnostic information relating to the patient's metal health therapy, i.e. psychiatric evaluations and other casework materials. Develops with patient a comprehensive treatment plan, with focus primarily on medications. Will participate in reviewing and monitoring treatment plans on a quarterly basis for quality outcomes that are measured by reduction of impairment and optimized functioning. Maintains documentation for all consultation notes, significant incident occurrences, phone conversations, etc. Completes documentation within 24 hours Maintains documentation consistent with applicable regulatory requirements. Complies with billing practice and procedures as identified in the organization's Billing Policy. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possesses an active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Iowa; have a current, valid certification or ability to obtain a Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (PMHNP-BC) in the State of Iowa Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification, PMHNP-BC (preferred) 1-2 years' experience working as an ARNP (preferred).
