APP (PA/NP) - Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Reports to:

None Position Summary:
This role involves providing general urologic care and treatment to patients in both inpatient and outpatient Urology of St. Louis clinic settings, under the direction of multiple Physicians. Additionally, the position includes opportunities to join a collaborative group of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) working together to deliver exceptional urologic care. Primary location is at our Maryville and Anderson locations.
Essential Functions :
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Oversee the triage process and works as a resource for support staff.
  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
  • Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
  • Resource for medical secretaries for urgent patient questions when MD not available.
  • Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician.
  • Hospital rounds on post-op patients and hospital consults where there may not be a MD present.
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, pain management, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Peer-to-peer for insurance denials for radiology
  • Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
Education and Experience:
Certified Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, Licensed in Illinois. 1+ year experience preferred.
