Job Description
Qualifications:
- Experience working with psychiatric populations
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and seeking consultation when necessary
- Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license by the State Board of Nursing in Illinois or compact privileges under the multistate Nurse Licensure Compact agreement
- Master's degree in nursing and graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in the area of practice
- Full Practice Authorization
- Certification by the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center), licensing verification by the State Board of Nursing, search of the HSS, EPLS, and DEA systems Responsibilities
- As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide acute and chronic general medical care and treatment in an outpatient center
- Direct care with children, adolescents, and adults
- Obtain patient history and perform, assessment, through observation, interviews and examinations
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers regarding preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources
- As a smaller clinic, the Nurse Practitioner will have no support staff
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at KC Counseling an Eating Disorder Clinic located in Champaign, IL. The clinic's team of professionals strives to provide the best care for those struggling with eating disorders, maintaining recovery, or balancing co-occurring mental health disorders. This position does require knowledge of acute medical complications, as well as psychiatric med management. The nurse practitioner should have full practice authority and a comfort level working independent of supervision. Care is provided in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of KC Counseling, LLC.Required Experience:
2 years of experience working with psychiatric patients. At least 1 year acute care, FNP, or other medical experience. Unrestricted Licenses and certificationsJob Types:
