Full-time Advanced Practicing Provider/Physician Assistant Job Description:
The Center for Neurosciences in Moline, Illinois is looking for a second and a third midlevel provider and dedicated Physician's Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its growing neurology outpatient and inpatient services. As a member of our Neurology service care team, you will provide care to our patient population made up of varying neurologic disorders by obtaining a medical history, performing a thorough neurologic physical examination, diagnosing their conditions, and providing treatment by prescribing medications and creating treatment plans. You will work alongside our attending and collaborating neurologist and epileptologist staff who also has had long teaching and collaborating experience, our other nurse practitioner and PA and NP students from Saint Ambrose University and other local and regional schools. Our ideal candidate has a current Illinois state license to practice, and at least 2 years of medical experience, however, new graduates will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.
Advanced Practicing Provider Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates new patient consultation in health history review
  • Performs thorough physical and neurologic examinations and screening of all patients.
  • Orders diagnostic testing including labs, EEG, MRI, sleep studies, EMG/NCS, etc.
  • Reviews and provides diagnostic testing interpretation to diagnose neurologic conditions
  • Collaborates with attending neurologist and provides recommendations towards treatment plans
  • Provides patients with referrals to other practitioners when necessary
  • Provides patient education, aftercare, and ongoing care to patients and their families.
  • Ensures patients are kept up to date on cares, including testing results, medication compliance, condition changes, etc.
Advanced Practicing Provider Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A graduate degree in Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
  • A current Illinois state license
  • Understands HIPAA and OSHA regulations
  • Proficient in EHR medical charting system, and computer-based data management programs/information systems
  • Is able to function as a team member and provide collaborative care with other practitioners.
