Job Description
Principal Functions:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing primary healthcare and education to patients with additions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A member of the inpatient treatment team working with all members to provide medical and addiction services to the patient. Required to perform an in-person medical assessment within 24 hours of admission. Responsible for the admission history and physical information, medication management, family contacts, and collaboration with the psychiatric support team for patients participating in the detox and residential levels of care. Request laboratory studies, review results, and initiate medication alterations or follow-up treatment. Consult with office staff and other health care professionals regarding patient care, as needed. Addresses and documents completion of required performance measures to include patient education, appropriate testing, and review of patient history and treatment. Assists in developing short-term and long-term health care goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and the plans and programs directed toward their achievement. Assists in implementing a comprehensive health education program, including the development of health education materials for patients.
