Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary:

The Family Nurse Practitioner provides medical care to patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disease(s) as directed by a supervisory physician while placing an emphasis on preventative health and patient education.

Essential Functions:

Performs systematic physical examinationsObtains medical and social history of patientAccurately interprets lab data and other supporting information for accurate diagnosing and treatmentAppropriately documents patient data, diagnosis, and treatment planAppropriately codes patient visitsRequests appropriate follow-up visits from patientsAppropriately prescribes medicationsConsults with supervising physicianInitiates medical and social referrals as indicatedProvides direction to ancillary staffActively attempts to solve problems and works towards common goals of the CenterAttends staff meetings, participates in continuing educationAssist supervising physician in providing optimal care for clinic patientsOther duties as required

Education, Experience and Licensure:

Current Indiana license and valid CSR/DEA required. Nurse Practitioner certification preferredMinimum or 5 years nursing experience with 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience in a healthcare setting

Physical Demands:

May sit and/or stand for long periods of timeMay require full range of body motion including bending, stretching and kneeling or squattingMay occasionally be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to see and hear in normal range with or without correction device(s)Dexterity and hand to eye coordination as normally associated with operating office equipment, computers and telephones
