Job Description

  • Position Overview:
  • Our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team.
This role is critical in providing high-quality, comprehensive mental health services to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, with a commitment to holistic, patient-centered approaches in treating mental health conditions.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care
  • : Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing management for patients with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health issues.
  • Medication Management
  • : Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects, and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Therapeutic Interventions
  • : Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques for individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Collaboration
  • : Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
  • Education and Advocacy
  • : Provide education to patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options. Advocate for patients within the healthcare system and the broader community.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • : Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and FQHC regulations and standards.
  • Qualifications:
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Valid state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and board certification.
  • Experience in psychiatric care, including assessment, intervention, and medication management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population.
