Job Description
Position Overview:
- Our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care
- : Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing management for patients with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health issues.
- Medication Management
- : Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects, and making adjustments as necessary.
- Therapeutic Interventions
- : Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques for individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Collaboration
- : Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Education and Advocacy
- : Provide education to patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options. Advocate for patients within the healthcare system and the broader community.
- Compliance and Documentation
- : Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and FQHC regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
- Valid state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and board certification.
- Experience in psychiatric care, including assessment, intervention, and medication management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population.
