Nurse Practitioner (NP) Emergency medicine Full Job Description Job Summary A minimum of 3 years of urgent care experience is required for this position. Experience with wellness services is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who already have a collaborative physician in place, but one can be provided if needed. w We are a new urgent care and wellness center seeking an experienced Louisiana licensed Nurse Practitioner to join our team. We can pay for your licensing if you are out of state and want to work in Louisiana fulltime for at least two years. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of urgent care experience. We are looking for a provider who is confident, efficient, and capable of delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. We will support you but we do want an NP that will be the facility leader. The provider will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and minor injuries, while also supporting additional services offered by the practice, including weight loss management, hormone-related care, occupational health services, and other wellness-focused treatments. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a professional and compassionate approach to patient care. Candidates should be comfortable performing assessments, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting appropriate tests, completing accurate documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently. We are seeking someone dependable, motivated, and interested in contributing to the growth and success of a new practice. Pay is $50 an hour. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR . Diagnose and treat a wide range of urgent health conditions, utilizing skills in acute pain management, suturing, IV infusion, and sterile processing techniques. Perform procedures such as wound care, suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and dermal fillers when appropriate. Manage patient flow efficiently through triage protocols, ensuring timely care for all walk-in patients while maintaining safety standards aligned with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with physicians and specialists on complex cases involving infectious disease care, gastroenterology issues, or critical care needs like ICU or Level II trauma center scenarios. Educate patients on health maintenance, medication administration, injury prevention, and post-treatment discharge planning. Document all patient encounters thoroughly in EMR/EHR systems while adhering to CPT coding standards for billing accuracy. Qualifications Current Nurse Practitioner licensure Proven experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and those requiring senior or memory care. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is a plus. Strong clinical skills including suturing, IV insertion, airway management, and basic life support certification. Knowledge ofICD-10/ICD-9
coding for accurate documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is preferred. Experience in emergency medicine or hospital settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center enhances your ability to handle acute cases confidently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform patient assessment and education effectively while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
