Job Description
Position Objective:
The Nurse Practitioner will assess patients, formulate, implement, and evaluate care plans in the management of OB/Gyn patients. This advanced practitioner will evaluate the physical and psychosocial status of clients presenting for routine obstetrical and gynecological care, family planning or minor gynecological complaints by means of interview, health history, physical examination and diagnostic tests. Interprets data, develops and implements therapeutic plans. Duties will include minor procedures, educating patients, IUD insertions, Nexplanon insertions and routine annual exams. In addition to clinical responsibilities, all NPs participate in professional practice activities at varying levels.Essential Job Duties:

Maintains current licensure and continuing medical education credits as required by Maryland State Law. Communicates treatment / therapy progress with individuals who have the responsibility or control in patient care intervention. Refers patients to appropriate licensed physician or other health care provider as condition or circumstances warrant. Performs duties in accordance with established routine procedures as set forth by the State of Maryland, BPQA (Board of Physicians Quality Assurance), AMA (American Medical Association), HCFA, and AAHS policies.Educational/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a certified registered nurse practitioner in the state of Maryland Current National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health. Two (2) years of related clinical nursing experience. Eligibility for or holds both DEA and Maryland CDS prescriber's licenses.There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
