Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Oncology Evaluation and Treatment Center (OETC). The APP will provide high-quality care to patients with oncologic conditions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment and support.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the oncology team.
  • Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other medications as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and symptom management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Participate in oncology clinical trials and research initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Maryland.
  • National certification as an NP or PA.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical skills in oncology care, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).
  • Bilingual proficiency.
Working Conditions:
  • PRN position with rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and oncology medications.
Salary Range:
Minimum 71.16/hour - Maximum 71.16/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
