Job Description

Join a busy Level I Trauma Center in Flint, Michigan as a locum provider covering overnight General Surgery and Trauma services. This role is a great fit for an experienced surgical APP who enjoys a fast-paced acute care setting and is comfortable managing adult surgical and trauma patients. What you'll be doing Provide overnight inpatient coverage for adult general surgery and trauma patients. Perform evaluations, consultations, and follow-up assessments. Assist with admissions and postoperative management, including ongoing patient monitoring. Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and work directly with attending surgeons and the trauma team. Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and coordinate with nursing and ancillary services. Perform bedside procedures as indicated and maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Weekend coverage:
Required On-call:
None Typical patient volume: ~15-20 patients per shift Procedures and clinical skills you should be comfortable with Adult general surgery and trauma patient management Acute surgical assessment and stabilization Postoperative care and surgical consults Central line and chest tube insertion Placement and management of vascular access devices Performing bedside procedures as clinically indicated Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Board certified as an NP or PA Active Michigan license Current ACLS and ATLS certification
