This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver expert wound care, perform advanced procedures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including measuring, photographing, and documenting wounds using InteliWound Develop and implement personalized treatment plans including advanced wound care techniques such as debridement, dressing selection, and skin grafting when appropriate Perform specialized advanced procedures such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Manage complex cases involving pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis wounds, and post-surgical wounds across diverse patient populations including geriatrics and individuals with disabilities Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and facilitate discharge planning Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention strategies, proper dressing changes, nutrition support, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation of all patient encounters in a timely manner Qualifications Current Michigan Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant licensure Experience in wound care preferred but not required Wound care certification preferred but not required Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing processes Excellent patient assessment skills with an emphasis on physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining excellent communication within a multidisciplinary team.
