Required Required Procedures / Competencies (must have) Neonatal intensive care (Level
III/NICU
) Newborn and pediatric ventilation management (including acute settings) Non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP, neo-puff) Use of inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) Endotracheal intubation (newborn ETT/NT) Chest tube insertion Central line, arterial line, and PA catheter insertion Attend high-risk C-sections Minor laceration suturing Preferred Procedures / Skills Invasive airway management (ETT) Exchange transfusion Hemodialysis catheter placement Management of acute volume/BP instability Diagnostic/therapeutic taps: lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis Chronic ventilation management (neonate/pediatric) Conscious sedation Needle decompression for pneumothorax X-ray interpretation Circumcision Swallow studies Duties & Responsibilities Manage complex neonatal cases: respiratory distress syndrome, IUGR, hyperbilirubinemia, sepsis Perform required procedures listed above (intubation, chest tubes, central lines, taps, exchange transfusions) Manage ventilators including oscillators and iNO Provide family-centered communication and support for critically ill newborns Collaborate with nursing and APP staff; coordinate care with obstetrics for high-risk deliveries
