NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT TEMPORARY 4.3 4.3
out of 5 stars The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for direct patient care and for other administrative duties as designated by the Dean and his/her designee. The Medical Director provides the overall direction for all patient care activities. FNP or PA duties include, but are not limited to, providing medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide quality medical care, serving as an educational preceptor for the clinical staff including responding to questions/consultations of the staff, following medical protocols, handouts and clinical standards and assisting in expanding the competencies of the clinical staff. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant educational program. Member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), as applicable. Existing unrestricted license to practice in Michigan, or license eligibility in Michigan. Preferred Qualifications Two years of post graduate clinical experience. Experience working with Electronic Medical Records and computers. Experience in an Academic Medical Center, Urgent Care, Walk In Clinic or teaching environment. Duties & Responsibilities Practices medicine using sound medical judgment and adheres to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; knows limitations and seeks consult when advisable; keeps abreast of current technologies and industry standards. Follows all internal policies and procedures; accountable for completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical documentation supporting sound medical billing, compliance, the handling of PHI (protected health information) and the financial viability of clinical services. Successful completion ofEPIC EMR
training and system use. Openly works with administrative leadership to understand productivity benchmarking including the use of relative value units (RVU) targets. Advises administration of any issues that may impact clinical operations. Sees patients in a timely and efficient manner per current practice management protocols including open patient access, wait times, patient throughput and client satisfaction. Completes and attests open encounters the same day as the patient. Supervision Exercised None.
