  • PA/NP University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join our expanding inpatient Heart and Vascular service line.

Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan Health systems create an opportunity for program collaboration, and mentorship for the goal of providing the most patient-centric, comprehensive care the region has to offer. University of Michigan Health-West has developed a comprehensive Heart and Vascular Center consisting of Non-Invasive Cardiologists, Invasive non-interventional Cardiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Structural Heart Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgery program. This position is focused on the evaluation, admission, and management of patients presenting with a broad range of acute cardiovascular conditions. The APP will work closely with attending cardiologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Primary Responsibilities Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for patients admitted to the general cardiology service. Evaluate and manage patients presenting with acute cardiovascular conditions, including but not limited to: Acute coronary syndromes Heart failure exacerbations Cardiac arrhythmias Syncope Chest pain syndromes Hypertensive emergencies Valvular heart disease Develop and implement diagnostic and treatment plans in collaboration with supervising cardiologists. Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic test results. Coordinate admissions, transfers, and transitions of care. Complete admission documentation, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required medical record documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination activities. Communicate effectively with patients, families, consulting providers, and nursing staff. Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of inpatient cardiology, hospital medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, or related experience The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment Demonstrates strong clinical decision-making skills Comfortable managing a daily census of approximately 20-35 admissions and consultations.
