Key Position Details:
The Allina Health Cancer Institute is seeking an Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing team. 1.0 FTE. Monday
  • Friday business hours.
May consider a .8 or .9 FTE. Provide care for solid tumor and benign hematology patients. This is primarily a clinic focused position located at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. May cover other Cancer Institute sites in the NW region as needed. This role includes caring for active treatment patients, infusion center support, and survivorship visits. Inpatient rounding per department scheduling. Potential for future weekend rounding.
Job Description:
Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team. Principle Responsibilities Provides clinical care for patients Completesprehensive patient assessments. Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. Refers for specialty care when determined. Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear. Participates in health care team Promotesmunication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff. Acts as resource to members of the team. Works with primary care team for program development. Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed. Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree
  • Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Preferred Qualifications New Graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience in Oncology Licenses/Certifications Licensed Registered Nurse
  • MN Board of Nursing required upon hire ( NP) Certified Nurse Practitioner
  • American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
  • National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants within specialty required upon hire.

Pay Range Pay Range:
$135,096 to $164,216 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE.
