Job Description

The Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an integral member of the inpatient care team, providing high'quality, evidence'based care to adult medical patients. This role includes independent and collaborative management of hospitalized patients, participation in rapid response and Code Blue events, and performance of advanced procedures such as endotracheal intubation within the provider's scope of practice and credentialing. The (APP) practices collaboratively with and under the supervision of the Nocturnist Physician, who is available on-site or immediately accessible for consultation, escalation, and co-management of complex or unstable patients. Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Current, unrestricted NP or PA license in Missouri Current national certification (e.g., ANCC/AANP for NPs; NCCPA for PAs). Active DEA registration (or eligibility) as required for the role. Current BLS and ACLS certification (PALS preferred or as required by facility). Experience 2-4 years of experience as a practicing NP/PA preferred. Experience in hospital medicine, critical care, or emergency medicine preferred. Demonstrated experience participating in resuscitations and managing acutely ill patients. Prior experience with endotracheal intubation and advanced airway management strongly preferred (or willingness to complete formal training and supervised proctoring to obtain hospital privileges).
