Job Description

Shift Hours:
2 days per week and every other weekend. Weekdays 830a-730p, Saturdays 830a-530p, Sundays 830a-430p.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to serve as a part-time float across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive clinical skill set, including experience in acute and primary care, hospital medicine, and outpatient services. This role offers the opportunity to work in diverse environments such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and specialty practices, providing high-quality patient care with a focus on holistic health management. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in medical documentation, patient assessment, and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assess patient health status across multiple clinical settings. Provide evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, including pain management, behavioral health, geriatrics, pediatrics, and family planning. Administer injections, IV infusions, suturing, and perform procedures such as catheterization and spinal taps with sterile technique. Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote patient consultations and follow-up care efficiently. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes. Manage medication administration, CPT coding for billing purposes, and maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth. Assist in infection control practices, infection surveillance, and participate in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives when applicable. Provide education on health coaching topics including nutrition, disease prevention, and medication adherence tailored to diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those in assisted living or hospice care. Qualifications Valid Family Nurse Practitioner certification with current state licensure. Demonstrated experience in acute care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Athenahealth, or similar platforms. Strong clinical skills in areas such as dermatology (dermal fillers), esthetic laser treatments, botulinum toxin treatments, and wound suturing preferred. Experience working with pediatric through geriatric populations across settings like hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, or home care. Knowledge of
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards for accurate documentation and billing processes. Familiarity with specialty areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, or behavioral health is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to triage effectively and provide clear patient education. Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
