In accordance with the Mississippi Board of Nursing approved protocol, the Nurse Practitioner may assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate responses to treatment. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner provides education and counseling to facilitate disease prevention measures as well as health promotion.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Licensure, Certification and/orRegistration:
Must be certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AACC) and/or the American Nursing Credentialing Center (AANP). Must be currently certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the Mississippi Board of Nursing. One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant preferred Experience in Orthopedics preferredDocumentation Required:
Applicant must provide copies of their valid nurse licenses, certifications by AACC and/or AANP, and the Mississippi State Board of Nursing as a certified Nurse Practitioner.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Additional essential functions may be identified and included as needed. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Assessment and treatment of urgent care type of conditions and injuries Ability to perform diagnostic treatment Clinic operations with occasional surgical exposure Obtains histories; performs physical examinations; formulates diagnosis and treatment plans; and orders and interprets diagnostic studies Prescribes medications and therapeutic treatments Provides plan for follow-up Assesses patient's health needs Collaborates with consulting physician in a team setting Works independently for the clinic within scope of practiceQualifications Behaviors Required Detail Oriented:
