Adolescents PMHNP Geriatrics Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides medical care to all age groups with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders. The PMHNP also provides diagnostics and therapeutic psychiatric services to Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS), consumers while making reasonable and sound Psychological/Psychiatric assessments and treatment plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing sound medical care, supporting, developing, and/or applying the treatment/service plan, and facilitating compliance. Serves as a member of the appropriate interdisciplinary treatment team.
Qualifications:
Must be licensed in the State of Mississippi as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Accepted or eligible to be accepted by all major insurance. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting is preferred. Board certification is required. The employee must demonstrate the ability to recognize consumers' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations, and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. This position has been determined to have a low risk of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
