Local Hospital located in South Mississippi with Psychiatric Inpatient and Outpatient services now hiring!! A Psychiatric Mental Health
PMH-APRN
(APRN) work with individuals, families, groups, and communities, assessing their mental health needs. The APRN nurse develops a nursing diagnosis and plan of care, implements the nursing process, and evaluates it for effectiveness. Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (PMH-APRNs) offer primary care services to the psychiatric-mental health population. APRNs assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders or the potential for such disorders using their full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and administration of psychotherapy. The Advance Practice Registered Nurse, (APRN), assumes responsibility for the management of the assigned patient's physical, psychiatric, and behavioral conditions. The APRN provides medical and psychiatric services to patients within the scope of practice for the APRN and within the APRN's education, training and specialty. The APRN maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy and procedures, other external governing and credentialing bodies, performance improvement standards, and APRN standards. The APRN evaluates patients and prescribes treatments utilizing established practice guidelines. The APRN utilizes the collaborative support of the medical staff when needed and when indicated by a patient's condition. The APRN applies decision making on care issues related to the patient's condition which will promote, maintain, and restore physical and mental health, and prevent illness. The APRN interprets age/disability specific information in response to client population served. The APRN prescribes and provides for the safe delivery of medication and treatments in accordance with the policies, procedures, and national guidelines of current practice. The APRN is responsible for thorough, accurate diagnosing, management, and documentation of the patient's symptoms, responses and progress. The APRN assumes responsibility for professional development, continuing education and maintaining licensure. All duties to be done in accordance with Federal and State regulations, Freedoms Mission, policies and procedures and PI Standards.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
Minimal of a Master's Degree in Nursing, Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner with a earned degree in psychiatric-mental health nursing.License:
Licensed as a PMHNP to practice in the stateExperience:
