Job Description

Overview Boice-Willis Clinic is a multi-specialty, private medical practice located in Rocky Mount, NC. We are currently looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work at our Walk-In Clinic, Endocrinology practice, and in our primary care practices. We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care across diverse clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality healthcare services. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems; examining adults to ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery; requesting follow-up visits and referring patients to specialists as necessary; providing professional medical care according to established standards and practices. Duties Responds rapidly to requests for daily visits, consults, and/or admissions. Collaborate with patient's physician in developing treatment goals for patient. Assists with diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and radiology tests within scope of professional practice. Prescribe medications including controlled substances to the extent delegated and licensed. Determines effectiveness of interdisciplinary treatment plan, evaluates patient's response, and revises accordingly. Perform other therapeutic or correct measures as indicated. Consult with physician or designees as needed, inform supervising physician of services provided and with other physicians as needed. Assists in all facets of care coordination. Communicate effectively with patients and families for understanding of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age and development of patient. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated for diagnosis and management of problems. Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, charts, and documents to support sound medical practice reimbursement for services provided. Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation. Initiate reimbursement for services rendered. Adhere to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff, and the organization. Comply with applicable laws and regulations. Documents Clinical Findings in the Medical Record. Documents physical findings and plan of care in the EMR. Documents results of studies and plan of care based on study results in the EMR. Chart completion with attention to coding. Completes all elements of medical record, signs, and authenticates orders. Utilizes computer systems appropriately per corporate compliance and HIPPA laws. Participates in quality improvement activities. Participates in advanced clinical practice and departmental meetings. Requirements Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program. Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the North Carolina Board of Nursing and or as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board. If Nurse Practitioner, must hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the North Carolina. 2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred. Must have experience/knowledge of EMR system Maintains current required reference material and documents as required by governing board(s) at practice site for review at any time (i.e. collaborative practice agreement, professional license(s), DEA certificate, general statutes, documented consultation with MD, quality improvement activities, certifications of approval to practice, etc). Maintains mandatory certifications as related to specialty, if applicable.
