Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric Mental Health) -
Sewell, NJ Job Type:
Full-Time (On-site)
Schedule:
40 hours per week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a growing behavioral health practice in Sewell, NJ. This role involves collaborating closely with supervising physicians, therapists, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions. The practice offers a supportive clinical environment with administrative assistance, care coordination support, and streamlined workflows, allowing providers to focus on delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and risk assessments Diagnose and treat mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and schizophrenia Develop, implement, and adjust individualized psychiatric treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring effectiveness and side effects Collaborate with physicians, therapists, counselors, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care Provide supportive psychotherapy and patient counseling as appropriate Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and coping strategies Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and behavioral health best practices
Qualifications:
Active Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) license in New Jersey Board Certification as PMHNP required DEA registration or eligibility for controlled substance prescribing Minimum 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health experience preferred Experience with pain medicine or Orthopedics is a plus
