TITLE:
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT
Per-Diem Schedule:
Flexible; 5-10 hours per week (1 day), during clinic hours.
LOCATION
Foothills Clinic, -Everts Avenue.
SALARY:
$101.74- $103.74 per hour Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Reports to Department Head by Assignment Responsible to the President/CEO
POSITION CONCEPT
Under the direction of the Physician, delivers services in accordance with generally accepted community standards of professional practice. This includes diagnoses of illnesses and conditions and performs therapeutic and corrective measures within the specialty area of practice. Performs diagnostic assessments and provides ongoing allowable treatment services as appropriate to the needs of the person, meeting the definition of preventative, therapeutic, rehabilitative or palliative and delivered within the scope of the practitioner's licensure.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will: 1. Actively cooperate with the President/CEO and other staff in a joint endeavor in satisfactorily achieving the goals of Foothills Clinic. 2. Act in the capacity of a professional practitioner of the healing arts to provide diagnostic, palliative, preventive or rehabilitative/habilitative services to persons admitted or seeking admission to the program. The Psychiatric NP will produce billable units of service. 3. Develop and deliver psychiatric services in accordance with the intensity, duration and frequency recommended. 4. Promote services in accordance with generally acceptable community standards of professional practice and in conformance to the requirements of all applicable statutes and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: 14NYCRR, Parts 679, 520, 633, 635, and 636. 5. Contemporaneously document in each person's confidential Clinic record, all diagnostic assessment reports, individual plans of treatment, prescribe/perform medication management and treatment notes regarding service being recommended and/or delivered. 6. Consult with other disciplines regarding program participants. 7. At least semi-annually, consult with each person receiving services and/or collaterals regarding treatment outcomes and course of treatment. 8. Participate in required trainings. 9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Division Director for Clinical Services 10. Act in any other capacity as requested by the President/CEO.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS RN
who has earned a separate license as an NP though advanced clinical nursing education (usually a master's degree) in a distinct specialty area of practice. Must be currently certified and registered as a nurse practitioner (NP) by the NYS Education Department. Must have graduated from a NP education program acceptable to NYSED or be certified as a NP by a national certifying organization acceptable to NYSED, have completed pharmacology coursework acceptable to NYSED. Credentials to work with patients across the life span preferred. Must have a valid NPI (National Provider Identifier) and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)number.
