[not provided] Overview Locum tenens position in Emergency Department, Hamilton, NY. Clinical only. Start ASAP; open-ended contract with minimum 6-month assignment. Minimum 7 shifts/month. 12-hour shifts (7:00a-7:00p and 7:00p-7:00a), flexible scheduling. Patient population & volume Mixed adult and pediatric. ~35 patients/day; ~13,000 annual visits. 6.2% admission rate. ~6.4% EMS volume. General emergency cases (non-trauma designated facility). Phone consults as needed. Facility & support 24-hour staffed ED. No trauma designation.EMR:
Epic. Standard emergency diagnostic/treatment equipment. Nursing and allied health support; no scribes. Limited specialty backup; APPs practice independently under physician collaboration. Privileges, onboarding & compliance Hospital privileges required. Temporary privileges issued after verification (no immediate temporary privileges).Credentialing timeline:
45-60 days. Orientation required (includes EMR training and PCC onboarding). Completion of documentation and certifications prior to start. Compensation & benefits Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided.Overtime:
daily after 12 hours; weekly after 168 hours. Required procedures & competencies General emergency medicine and acute care management. Stabilization, airway management, and coordination with supervising physician. ACLS, PALS, and ATLS (AHA) proficiency required. Qualifications Active New York NP license and NY DEA required.National certification:
ANCC or AANP. Relevant emergency, family, or internal medicine training. Preferred minimum 1 year emergency or urgent care experience.Required certifications:
ACLS, PALS, ATLS
(AHA). Flu and PPD required (waivers considered). NPDB and background verification required. Key responsibilities Provide emergency care across full acuity spectrum; evaluate, diagnose, treat, and perform emergency procedures within NP scope. Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and support staff to maintain patient flow. Document and enter orders in Epic.
